  • Singer songwriter, Hattie Briggs, will be playing at the Maltings for the second time, this time with her band, showcasing songs from her second album “Young Runaway” being released in July 2016. Hattie will be playing guitar, keys and ukulele and singing lead vocals.

Inspired by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy and James Taylor, Hattie recorded both her albums at Monnow Valley Studios, and they are produced by Peter Waterman (Joss Stone/Uriah Heep/Emma Ballantine). As well as Hattie, the albums feature a rich mix of instruments including cellos, banjo, pedal steel, violin, harmonica, bass and percussion.

Hattie’s debut album “Red & Gold” was awarded Best Debut Album and Hattie was awarded Best New Artist 2015 by Laurel Canyon Music in January 2016. Songs from this album were showcased at the Maltings when Hattie’s played there on the 14th April 2015 – her 22nd birthday, while supporting Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman on their national tour.
